U.S Ahuja Ask Wisconsin Court to Drop Settled $5M FBAR Suit

The U.S Government and Arvind Ahuja, a neurosurgeon convicted for violating foreign bank account reporting laws have requested that a Wisconsin federal court dismiss a tex suit after settling out of court.
 
In a stipulation of dismissal filed on Tuesday, the neurosurgeon and the government have agreed to have the case dropped. The suit amounted to roughly $5,000,000. They had in earlier filings, informed that court of their willingness to reach a tentative settlement. Arvind — who was in 2012 found guilty for the crime of failing to reports several Indian bank accounts and for filing false income tax returns — was hit by a $5million suit in 2018 by the U.S. government.
 
 The case is U.S. v. Ahuja, case number 2:18-cv-01934, before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
